Do Books Still Matter?

Do Books Still Matter?

Why Reading to Kids Is Still So Important One of my favorite activities with my three kids was reading aloud to them. In this age of Internet and gaming, it’s more important than ever that kids develop a love for books early on—often by listening to mom or dad read aloud. And for publishers, it’s good to know that nothing replaces the feel and sound of a good book! —Linda Taylor

I am so grateful for the upbeat article on the benefits of reading to our children. I started reading to each of our daughters before they were born. One has struggled with reading comprehension, but, now at 17, I’ve learned the various things she’s apt to pick up and read. Those are the things I make a point to purchase for her. Our other daughter loves to read (like her mom!)and is always on the look out for great buys at the half-price book store. Reading is a hobby our children will have with them for a lifetime.
